Why did X (Twitter) reject my post with a "Pay Per Use" or credits error?

X (formerly Twitter) meters API-based posting under its own "Pay Per Use" billing on top of your regular X subscription. If your X account has run out of allotted API credits, or hasn’t enabled pay-per-use billing, X’s API rejects the post before FOGATO can do anything with it — FOGATO surfaces X’s own error message as-is.

What to do

  1. Log in to your X account’s developer/billing settings and check your API usage and Pay Per Use billing status.
  2. Add or top up API billing if needed, directly with X.
  3. Retry publishing from FOGATO once X’s side is resolved.

This is X’s own account-level billing limit, confirmed via the exact error text X’s API returns — it isn’t something FOGATO can waive or work around, since the API request never succeeds on X’s side in the first place.
