Why did my Facebook post say "Confirm your identity before you can publish"?

This message comes directly from Facebook, not from FOGATO. Facebook periodically asks Page admins to confirm their identity before allowing new posts — it’s part of Meta’s own anti-abuse system and can trigger even when nothing about your account or your FOGATO connection has changed. If you’re publishing to multiple platforms at once, the other platforms (e.g. Instagram) will usually still publish successfully — only the Facebook post is held up.

What to do

  1. On your phone, open the Facebook app (not a desktop browser) signed in as an admin of the Page.
  2. Check Notifications first — Facebook usually puts the identity-confirmation prompt there.
  3. If you don’t see it, go to Menu → Settings & Privacy → Accounts Center and look for an identity or security confirmation task, or check the Page’s own Settings → Page transparency.
  4. Follow whatever prompt appears — this is usually a quick confirmation tap, though Facebook sometimes asks for a photo ID if it wants more assurance.
  5. Once confirmed, come back to FOGATO and retry publishing — you only need to redo the platform(s) that failed.

Facebook returns this exact message directly from its own publishing system — FOGATO is just relaying it. No app can skip or resolve this on your behalf; it always requires action from you, the Page admin, inside Facebook itself. In the meantime, click "Copy to post manually" on the failed post to grab your caption text and post it directly through Facebook while you wait on verification.
