Connecting your first social platform
FOGATO can generate content without any platform connected, but publishing and scheduling both require at least one connected account. Connect platforms from Settings → Platforms, or directly from the onboarding flow’s platform step.
Most platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Threads) connect via that platform’s own OAuth login screen — you’ll be redirected there, asked to approve FOGATO’s access, and redirected back. Bluesky is the one exception: it uses an app password you generate directly inside Bluesky’s own settings, not an OAuth redirect.
FOGATO encrypts every connected account’s access token at rest (AES-256-GCM) and only decrypts it server-side, at the moment it’s needed to publish on your behalf.
What to do
- Go to Settings → Platforms.
- Click "Connect" next to the platform you want.
- Approve access on that platform’s own login screen (or, for Bluesky, paste in an app password generated from your Bluesky account settings).
- You’ll land back on Settings with that platform now showing "Connected."
A handful of platforms (Facebook, Instagram) may periodically ask you to reconfirm access or your identity directly — see the Troubleshooting articles below if a previously-connected platform stops working.
